David Cogan is a co-founder and Managing Director of Sapient Investigations, Inc. He is responsible for overseeing day to day operations of the company and managing complex corporate intelligence investigations.

Prior to launching the firm in January 2010, Cogan was Director of Investigations in the Los Angeles office of Kroll, Inc from 2003 until 2009. While there Cogan managed a wide range of complex business intelligence, internal fraud investigations, litigation support and due diligence investigations on behalf of law firms and corporate clients.

Prior to that, Cogan was an award-winning journalist based in Los Angeles.

Kristofer Nowak is Director of Investigations & Training at Sapient Investigations, Inc. He is responsible for training new employees and ensuring their success within the company. Nowak is also involved in conducting and managing investigations, as well as providing case oversight to other team members.

Prior to joining Sapient in September 2016, Nowak worked as an Analyst for Gavin de Becker & Associates (GDBA), a security and consulting firm headquartered in Los Angeles, California. He worked on the company’s Background Investigations Team, conducting complex investigative research and sensitive background checks. Nowak graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from the University of California, Riverside.

M.T. Moore is a Managing Director at Sapient and head of the company’s Boston office. Moore has spent more than a decade working in the field of corporate investigations, due diligence, and complex litigation support. Previously, Moore worked as a journalist in both Southern California and New England.

Steve Levine is Managing Director of The Vine Group, an investigations firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Levine specializes in internal investigations and high-stakes civil litigation support matters. He is a nationally recognized expert on public records.

From 2002 to 2010, Levine was a Managing Director at Kroll, Inc. where he managed numerous investigations involving theft of trade secrets and financial fraud.

Sam Anson is a Senior Managing Director of Guidepost Solutions, an international investigations firm. His practice is focused on complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes, litigation and business intelligence.

Earlier in his career, Anson was the Regional Managing Director for Latin America and the Caribbean for Kroll Inc. In this capacity, Anson oversaw all aspects of Kroll’s Latin America operations and led many of the firm’s major engagements in the region.
